I had a very good start and I was able to overtake Matthias (Ekstrom) at the first corner but unfortunately he got back past me on the exit of the corner. I was overtaken by Gary (Paffett) early on in the race and I was able to follow very closely to him for the first stint. I stayed out for a long time on my first stint and after the pit stop I was behind Tom (Kristensen) and Paul (Di Resta). Tom (Kristensen) overtook Bruno (Spengler) at turn 1 and there was a bit of contact between them and Bruno was on the outside (dirty side of the track) which allowed Paul to follow Tom through and get ahead of Bruno (Spengler) after this I was very close to Bruno (Spengler). I stayed closely behind Bruno and he did his pit stop and I stayed out for a few more laps. After my 2nd pit stop I came out of the pits just ahead of Ralf (Schumacher), which was very close, and again I came up behind Bruno. I decided not to push too hard after the 2nd pit stop as I heard over the radio a lot of the Audi cars were having tyre failures, so I decided to settle for fourth so not to risk having a tyre failure myself. The team had advised me that Oliver (Jarvis) was going to finish outside the points so this also allowed me to relax in fourth position, as I knew this was a great result for me in a one-year-old car. I was really happy with the race result and the race in general, the team did a fantastic job in setting my car up and this made the race enjoyable for me.
Mercedes Benz cars filled the top 5 places - this is a great result to take to the finale race at Hockenheim 23rd-25th October.
